Arrow season 4 adds Elysia Rotaru as love interest

Things will be heating up for Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell) in season 4 of “Arrow,” the CW confirmed a new casting tied Queen’s past love-life.

In season 4 of “Arrow” Elysia Rotaru has been cast as a former love interest to the Green-hooded vigilante but shouldn’t get in the way of his current flame. The casting was confirmed earlier today.

We should clarify that this will technically be a former love interest for Queen and one staying in the past for now. Fans might remember that Green Arrow and Felicity (played by Emily Bett Rickards) finally got together and seemed pretty stuck to one another during the season 3 finale.

In the new season Rotaru isn’t coming on board to rock the boat at first, her character is set to appear in flashback sequences. At this time there are no confirmed plans to introduce a love-triangle to the story.

Rotaru isn’t new to the CW, she appeared in the popular supernatural series “iZombie” in season one.

The cast for “Arrow” continues to expand as we head into season 4. Already in play are Jimmy Akingbola as the villain Baron Reiter (AKA Baron Blitzkrieg), Neal McDonough is playing Damien Darhk, Alexander Calvert is playing Lonnie Machin/Anarky and Echo Kellum is playing as Mister Terrific.

We announced earlier this summer that the CW would be bringing on Falk Hentschel to Carter Hall/Hawkman and Casper Crump will play Vandal Savage on the crossover episodes of Arrow/The Flash. Those characters will first appear in the crossover episode, but will then move to the new series “Legends of Tomorrow,” set to premiere in 2016.

The other popular casting announced this week went to former “True Blood” star Rutina Wesley, she is in final negotiations to join “Arrow” as we speak. Wesley’s possible role on the show is being kept secret at this time. Parker Young has been cast as a love interest for Oliver’s sister Thea (played by Willa Holland).

Arrow season four is set to premiere on October 7 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
