A new Dr. Dre album will release next week

Did you forget about Dre? We hope not because the rapper and proficient music producer, Dr. Dre. will release a new album next week.

It’s been almost seventeen-years since Dr. Dre released an album and with a new film coming out, the good doctor is coming back to the charts. Now at 50 years-old, Dr. Dre has quite a few popular albums under his belt, including “2001,” which he released in 1999 and “The Chronic” released in 1992.

Dr. Dre made the official announcement earlier today on his Beats 1 radio show, the album will be the soundtrack to “Straight Outta Compton,” and it will be an Apple exclusive.

The upcoming biopic will tell the story of the popular 1980s rap group N.W.A., a group that helped launch Dr. Dre into the mega-star that he is today. The original group included Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Eazy-E.

“It’s going to be my grand finale,” Dr. Dre told his listeners on his show following the announcement. The album itself will be called “Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre.”

Fans can expect to hear Ice Cube, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem on the soundtrack, as well as a few unannounced guests.

As for the film, that will release on August 14, 2015.
