Tommy Lee Jones joins Matt Damon in next Bourne film

The new “Bourne” film has signed-on another A-list name, Tommy Lee Jones will be joining the cast in the next installment set to release in 2016.

Matt Damon is expected to return as Jason Borne in the film, Alicia Vikander and Julia Stiles are also set to star in the film. Paul Greengrass will be directing the new film, working of a screenplay that he wrote with Matt Damon.

Production on the film is scheduled to being later this summer. Frank Marshall, Jeffrey Weiner, Greengrass, Matt Damon, Greg Goodman and Ben Smith are attached to produce the film.

Universal Pictures hasn’t released any plot-details on the film, more information on the story is expected to be released this fall. This will be the fourth Bourne movie starring Matt Damon, a franchise that he began back in 2002. The franchise took a turn when Jeremy Renner starred in an installment directed by Tony Gilroy. That film was released back in 2010 and was called “The Bourne Legacy.” Matt Damon last appeared in a Bourne film in 2007, that film was called “The Bourne Ultimatum.”

Matt Damon will appear the sci-fi drama “The Martian,” directed by Ridley Scott. That film will star Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Michael Peña and Kristen Wiig.

The new Bourne film will release in theaters on July 29, 2016.
