Chris Pine joins Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman

The upcoming “Wonder Woman” spinoff has signed Chris Pine to star opposite Gal Gadot. Warner Bros. Pictures has dated the film for 2017 and Patty Jenkins is set to direct the project.

In the film Chris Pine will play the role of Steve Trevor, the deal between Pine and Warner Bros. includes a multi-picture deal with sequels attached (should they choose to make any).

Pine will appear in the Justin Lin directed film “Star Trek Beyond,” he is also set to star in the film “Z For Zachariah.”

Warner Bros. Pictures has yet to officially announce the casting, theWrap was one of the first online sources to announce Pine’s casting.

While many fans already know the story of “Wonder Woman,” or Diana Prince as she is sometimes referred to, Steve Trevor’s character is still a bit of a mystery within the context of the film. Warner Bros. has yet to officially announce any of the plot details for “Wonder Woman” at this time.

Jason Fuchs wrote the script, fans will get to see Fuchs work in the upcoming film “Pan,” which is also from Warner Bros. Pictures. Charles Rovan, Richard Suckle, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder are producing “Wonder Woman” for the studio.

The first film to feature Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the famous heroine will be “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” in 2016. After that, “Wonder Woman” will premier on June 23, 2017.
