Gotham Season 2 trailer teases Joker, Batcave and new characters
Gotham fans have a lot to look forward to in the second season of “Gotham,” the series will return to FOX in the beginning of September. The network has two new trailers that are filled with hints and teasers to get fans excited for the return of their favorite superhero and villains.
FOX released two teasers earlier this week, which promise to add new villains and new plot points for the sophomore season.
Season two is getting the tagline “Rise of the Villains,” and it makes a lot of sense after you realize just how many new characters the season will be adding to Jim Gordon’s struggles.
The new season seems like it will complete the story-line that has corrupt Commissioner Loeb (played by Peter Scolari) not-so-gracefully bowing out of the GCPD. Fans will also get their first look at Theo Galavan (played by James Frain) and his sister Tabitha (played by Jessica Lucas) or as she will be soon be known as, Tigress. From what we have seen of Tabitha so far, she’s human but if you are a fan of the comics you may know that Tabitha isn’t 100% human in most of her incarnations. “Gotham” as series hasn’t dealt with any of the ‘supernatural’ villains in the DC Universe, so it’s unclear if Tabitha will remain this way or not.
The videos also tease one of the biggest villains of them all, the Joker. Show runner Bruno Heller has outright confirmed that Jerome (played by Cameron Monaghan) is the Joker but at this point we would be shocked if he wasn’t.
Let’s not forget one of the biggest moments for Bruce Wayne, finding the Batcave, another moment teased in the second trailer shows below. We should mention that at this point the cave under the study is still filled with actual bats and not rocket-cars (we hope).
If you were hoping to see a shot of Natalie Alyn Lind as Silver St. Cloud, you will have to wait. Her casting was announced earlier this month and no new details on her character have been released at this time.
Fans only have a few more weeks of waiting before the Season 2 premiere of Gotham airs. You can catch S2E01 on Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
