Open Road Films has confirmed the release date for the next Garry Marshall project called “Mother’s Day.” The new film will be released on April 29, 2016.
Earlier today Open Road Films announced that the studio had acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the rom-com and confirmed the release date on Twitter stating, “We’re excited to announce our release of the romantic comedy, “Mother’s Day,” will hit theaters on April 29, 2016! #OpenRoadFilms”.
Garry Marshall will be directing the film with Wayne Rice and Mike Karz producing. It should be noted that Karz and Rice also produced the themed-films “Valentine’s Day” and “New Year’s Eve.”
“Mother’s Day” will star Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Jason Sudeikis. Once again the story will involve following the lives of several individuals as their storylines interest with one-another throughout the film. This particular installment to the themed-movie set will revolve around Mother’s Day. More information on additional castings will be announced as the project moves closer to production over the next few weeks.
Anya Kochoff-Romano, Lily Hollander, Matt Walker and Tom Hines wrote the script to the comedy. Filming is scheduled to begin later this summer.
