The Marshall London, everything we know about the loudest smartphone
Earlier this month news leaked about the new Marshall smartphone. Now the company has formally introduced the new device, created by the same company that built an amplifier and headphones empire.
The phone is called the Marshall London and the company says it just may be “the loudest phone on Earth.” The London is set to be available in 8 countries worldwide and pre-ordering is available from July 16th with delivery set in late August to the middle of September depending on your country.
At the heart of the Marshall London’s design is high-quality listening; thanks to its dual speakers using enhanced bass technology and the dedicated hifi-grade sound card. The London is capable of crystal-clear playback of lossless FLAC files, while the stereo microphone is “perfect for recording on the go and features excellent noise reduction,” according to the company’s announcements.
Two stereo jacks are located on the top of the phone, allowing two users to share music simultaneously and at different volume levels. A global wide equalizer allows the user to personalize music played on the phone without having to adjust the sound on each individual music app. The revolutionary M-button gives you quick access to all your music players, including London’s pre-installed music player, which supports popular formats such as mp3, mp4, AAC and many more.
The London follows Marshall’s traditional hardware & design, with iconic brass details and buttons, and an analogue scroll wheel for volume control. The phone also features a matte black surface “similar to the skin” of Marshall amps which is said to offer a better grip in your hands.
Marshall London is equipped with a 2500 mAh removable battery that offers up to 450 hours of standby time, 12 hours of talk time, up to 7 hours of video playback and up to 55 hours of music playback. The phone comes with 16-gigabytes of internal mass storage and a separate MicroSD slot for additional memory usage.
The device also offers customers a signal to noise ratio of 120dB, features 192kHz 24-bit playback and audiophile up-sampling filters from 44.1kHz to 96kHz 16-bit and 24-bit sources.
Marshall Mode Android Edition in-ears with volume control, remote and built-in microphone are included with the London to better enjoy and control your music. The Mode earphones feature customized drivers that deliver high output sound at minimal distortion. The unique in-ear design anchors to your ear while still providing a comfortable fit.
Marshall London is also powered by Android Lollipop and supports the latest in LTE (4G) and download speeds of up to 150 Mbit/s.
“We always aim to go big! To always give our consumers the best user experience. When there was no smart phone on the market putting the music on the main stage, we created it,” said Konrad Bergström, Founder & President Of Zound Industries. “We know that our consumers and the open market is ready for what we have to give: a smartphone by default, developed into to the world’s greatest music device and we promise you, Marshall London is like nothing you’ve ever had in your pocket”.
