Emmy Nominations 2015: Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black lead the way

The usual suspects sit atop this year’s Emmy Nominations list with “Game of Thrones,” “Mad Men,” “Orange Is the New Black,” “Transparent” and “House of Cards” leading the pack.

The five series took home the most nominations this morning leading up to the 67th annual Primetime Emmy Awards scheduled to premiere late this fall. The official nomination ceremony took place earlier today.

At the top of the list is the HBO fantasy-drama “Game of Thrones,” which earned an impressive 24 nominations before the ceremony concluded.

Popular series like “Silicon Valley” “Veep” and “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” also took home nominations in their selected categories.

Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”), Viola Davis (“How to Get Away With Murder”), Jeffrey Tambor (“Transparent”), Amy Schumer (“Inside Amy Schumer”) and Bob Odenkirk (“Better Call Saul”) all earned acting nominations for their work in there respective series.

This year’s event will premiere at 8pm ET on September 20th on Fox, the awards show will be hosted by “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star Andy Samberg.

If you were a fan of “Mad Men,” this will be the very last chance for former-star Jon Hamm to win an Emmy for Don Draper, a prize that has eluded him in the past.
