Amazon Prime Day deals are live, shop the biggest sales all day

Amazon’s Prime DAY celebration has officially started on the company’s website. The new shopping day has been marketed as an improvement over “Black Friday,” with thousands of products going on sale all-day long through Amazon’s Lightning Deals.

The ‘catch,’ if you want to call it that, is the sale is for Amazon Prime members only. You can get around this little hurdle by signing-up for a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime so you can shop the deals all day long.

“Prime Day is a one-day only event filled with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members around the globe. Members tell us every day how much they love Prime and we will keep making it better,” said Greg Greeley, Vice President Amazon Prime. “If you’re not already a Prime member, you’ll want to join so you don’t miss out on one of the biggest deals extravaganzas in the world.”

Almost category in the store’s line-up will be hosting new lightning deals today including electronics, toys, movies, clothing, patio, lawn and garden, sports and outdoor items and more. You can start crossing off items for summer-trips, to-do list, family road trips, back to school supplies, upcoming birthdays and anniversaries, or just everyday essentials.

You will be able to shop from any device, including smartphones and tablets and find deals anytime, anywhere but that is a regular feature of Amazon Prime as well.

The event officially began on Wednesday, July 15 after midnight on Pacific Time. Now Prime members can shop thousands of exclusive lightning deals with new deals added as often as every ten minutes.

Amazon also listed a few major sales that the company will be offering today including Fire TV Stick for $15 off, the Amazon Kindle for $30 off, the Fire HD 7 for $60 off and the Fire HD 7 Kids Edition for $60 off.

There are also three TV options to look for, a 32-inch LED TV for $75, a 40-inch 1080p LED TV for $115 and a “Brand-name” 32-inch Smart HDTV for under $200. Amazon kept the preview a little vague to keep things interesting. There will also be a 50-inch 4K TV bundle for under $1000.

Customers can also look for Bose headphones at the lowest price ever on Amazon, a Chromebook laptop for only $199 and 50% off two Nikon COOLPIX cameras.

Other major sales include “Highly rated binoculars” for under $120 and two security camera-kits for $279.99.

If you are shopping for kids be sure to look for the K’NEX 2-in-1 Ferris Wheel Building Set (Amazon Exclusive) for $35.99, or the K’NEX Crossfire Chaos Roller Coaster Building Set (Amazon Exclusive) for $23.99. There will also be a Playskool Heroes Transformers Rescue Bots Optimus Prime Figure (Amazon Exclusive) for $9.99.

If you always wanted an iRobot Roomba Pet Vacuum Cleaning Robot, one will be on sale for under $300 today, as well as a Husqvarna mower for under $300.

Amazon also stated that there will be 40 lightning deals on DVDs up to 75% off, up to 50% off any of the Harry Potter books and shoppers can save more than 70% on the Divergent Series Complete Box Set of books, select kitchen products from top brands like Cuisinart, KitchenAid, Foodsaver and Thermos and up to 50% on select tools for the DIY auto enthusiast.

Connected Car and Scan Tool products will be starting at 60% off, road-trip-ready automotive products at 50% off and you will be able to save more than 50% on Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain.

On top of all that, there will also be 30% off select clothing, shoes, jewelry, watches & more, with 60% off Amazon Elements Baby Wipes with code ELEMENTS60.

Other promotions include a free luxury beauty sample box with $50 purchase of luxury beauty products, with promo code LUXSAMPLES, and a Buy an Amazon.com Gift Card multipack, get $10 in Amazon.com promotional credit event.
