Two of the most colorful characters in the Marvel Universe are teaming up to create a new series that will launch later this fall. Marvel has confirmed that “SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL #1′ will hit store-shelves and digital publishers before the holiday season this year.
Marvel stopped short of announcing an exact release date for SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL #1, but did narrow down the launch window to “this fall.” The popular Deadpool creative team of Joe Kelly & Ed McGuinness will reunite once again to write the ongoing adventures of Peter Parker and Wade Wilson.
If you need to catch up, Deadpool loves Spider-Man and Spider-Man hates Deadpool. The duo make the perfect odd-couple for a series and so far fans of the Marvel Universe seem pretty excited about it on social-media.
If you are wondering what event in the series cause these two to team-up for a new adventure, the creative team is only teasing the answer for now. “I will say that there is an assassination involved, a case of misplaced trust and their names are on the book so they sort of have to show up,” says writer Joe Kelly speaking with Marvel.com on what unites the two.
“Seriously, I’m having a blast writing the banter,” Kelly continued, “It’s your favorite buddy-cop movie on steroids if it was written by a swill-minded teenager.”
SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL #1 was written by JOE KELLY, with art & cover by ED MCGUINNESS.
