After a popular first season, Adult Swim will be bringing back the crude, time-traveling and inter-dimensional phasing couple “Rick and Morty” for a second season.
The network released the season-two trailer of the show earlier today, teasing a few of the episodes and storylines that await fans when the show comes back this summer. The exact premiere date for the sophomore season is now scheduled for July 26, 2015 so set a reminder and sit back and enjoy the trailer.
From Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, the show centers around lovable Morty and his time-traveling, drunken grandfather Rick. The show is loosely-based on a sort-of alternate reality “Back to the Future” concept, but once you get over Rick’s constant belching, it’s kind of hilarious.
The network describes the series as, “Adult Swim’s most scientifically accurate animated comedy.” The network went on to explain the show, “catalogues the bizarre misadventures of a bored scientific genius/drunkard and his socially awkward grandson, Morty. Their exploits tend to have unintended consequences for Morty’s dysfunctional family, especially his unfailingly mediocre father, Jerry.”
The series showcases the voice-talents of Justin Roiland, Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammar and Sarah Chalke.
