PBS and Amazon reach deal to add more Masterpiece programming to Prime

Amazon and PBS Distribution have expanded their licensing agreement, allowing even more MASTERPIECE programming to become available via Amazon Prime.

Under this new multi-year deal Amazon Prime will be the exclusive subscription streaming home for all new programs that are broadcast by PBS, including the critically-acclaimed and award-winning MASTERPIECE series.

New MASTERPIECE series that will come to Prime includes the 1950’s detective drama “Grantchester,” the iconic romantic saga “Poldark,” the critically acclaimed, political thriller based on the adaptation of the Hilary Mantel novels Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies titled” Wolf Hall,” and “Indian Summers,” the explosive drama focusing on the decline of the British Empire and birth of modern India.

These new shows join other popular series like Prime Carnival Films/MASTERPIECE co-production “Downton Abbey,” now with all five seasons available for Prime members, as well as fan favorite series “Mr. Selfridge” and “The Escape Artist.”

In addition Prime members also have access to hundreds of shows from PBS including NOVA, documentaries from veteran Producer and Director Ken Burns, and popular PBS KIDS shows like Wild Kratts, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Caillou and Dinosaur Train.
