Netflix released a hilarious teaser for the new “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp” mini-series prequel this week. The video-streaming event is a fan-service to the 2001 cult comedy.
The video features a VHS-quality shine and serves as a fake promo for Camp Firewood itself. Within the video fans can catch a few of the beloved counselors that will appear in the film, as well as some of the campers and the terrible activities they have planned for the summer.
The voice of H. Jon Benjamin narrates the video, just to add to it’s wonderfulness. Just as the video promises, “Camp Firwood is more than just a summer camp. Camp Firewood is an idea. A promise. A way of life.”
You will find Amy Poehler and Bradley Cooper starring in the video. You can see Molly Shannon and lifeguard Paul Rudd. Also appearing in the mini-series event are Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Joe Lo Truglio and Michael Showalter.
After it’s all said and done, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp will feature almost all the starring players of the 2001 film. Fans might remember stars like Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Judah Friedlander, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth and Ken Marino,
Soon you will be able to binge on all eight episodes of Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, the series will premiere all at once on Netflix on July 17th.
