Sean “P. Diddy” Combs arrested for assault at UCLA
In a bizarre turn of event Sean “P. Diddy” Combs has been arrested in California. The performer and music-agent has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon after getting into an altercation with a football coach at UCLA.
That deadly weapon was a kettlebell and the incident was confirmed by UCLA director of media relations Phil Hampton, who released a statement earlier today.
According to initial reports, the event took place around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, at that time Combs was arrested at UCLA’s Acosta Athletic Training Complex. There have been no reported injuries at this time but the UCLA police department is continuing their investigation into the matter.
If everything goes according to schedule, Combs will be transported to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Inmate Reception Center.
“I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation,” football coach Jim Mora said in a statement to the press. “This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”
Combs was on the campus with his son, Justin Combs, who is a defensive back on the UCLA football team. TMZ was one of the first outlets to report the arrest, stating that incident reached a boiling point after the coach was yelling at Justin Combs excessively during practice.
It was after that scheduled practice that Sean Combs allegedly confronted the coach in his office, where things got worse.
