Earlier today the Beverly Hills Police Department arrested popular actor John Stamos under the suspicion of driving under the influence.

The actor, made famous for his role as Uncle Jesse on the sitcom “Full House,” was first arrested and then issued a citation late Friday night for driving his silver Mercedes while intoxicated.

This was after the local Beverly Hills Police Department received calls regarding a reckless driver between the time of 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. in California.

When responding to the calls, an officer first pulled the driver over and John Stamos identified himself on scene. This was confirmed by Sergeant Max Subin, who also confirmed that Stamos was driving alone at the time of the arrest.

Due to the nature of the call, the fire department was also called to the scene. It was the fire department that gave Stamos an evaluation, then transported him to a local hospital.

After his short stay in the hospital, Stamos was then released to their care and issued a citation for the arrest. Stamos will now have a September 11, 2015 court date at the LAX Courthouse. The actor did not release a statement on the arrest at this time. Due to the nature of the offense, this was only a misdemeanor DUI and he was free to go without heading to jail.
