Disney teases Zootopia with new trailer
A new animated feature will be headed to theaters next year from Walt Disney Studios and it already looks to be pretty
furry funny. The Zootopia trailer highlights a few of the major players featured in the film and introduces the animated style for one of Disney’s rare non-Pixar choices.
You can say goodbye to humans this time around as Disney takes you into a modern “mammal metropolis,” called Zootopia. Filled with popular landmarks like Sahara Square and Tundratown, the film introduces a dozen new characters into the Disney framework and you can get an early look at the film thanks to a teaser trailer released by the studio earlier today.
Disney calls the city, “a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything.”
All of that changes when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps arrives, and she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn’t so easy. Disney describes the film stating, “Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking, scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde, to solve the mystery.”
The film comes from Walt Disney Animation Studios and was directed by Byron Howard (“Tangled,” “Bolt”) and Rich Moore (“Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and co-directed by Jared Bush (“Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”). The film is set to hit theaters on March 4, 2016.
