Few animated giants can break an audience’s collective hearts, then piece them back together again in ninety-minutes like Disney-Pixar. Whether it’s with “Toy Story,” “Finding Nemo” or “Up,” the animators and storytellers behind the studio have mastered the art of manipulating our #feels to the point that we are almost scared to watch the films in a crowded theater.

The next film from Pixar Animation Studios is called “The Good Dinosaur,” and the project is gearing up for a release later this year. In “The Good Dinosaur” the studio asks the question “What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct?”

That’s the premise for the new film which the studio hopes to take audiences, “on an epic journey into the world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend.”

“While traveling through a harsh and mysterious landscape, Arlo learns the power of confronting his fears and discovers what he is truly capable of,” the studio describes. I’m already sad because I mentioned “Up” and I haven’t even met Arlo yet.
