It may be hard to believe but the next “Star Wars” installment is just a few months away from releasing. The next film, titled “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” will release later this winter but now we know who famed motion-capture artist Andy Serkis will play in the film.

Wearing a motion-capture suit in the photo above (at this point it’s usually the best way to recognize the actor that brought Gollum to “Lord of the Rings” and Caesar to “Planet of the Apes”) Serkis sits as Supreme Leader Snoke in Vanity Fair’s latest Annie Liebovitz photo.

It was on StarWars.com that the official description of Andy Serkis was revealed, stating Serkis’ official role in the film. In the J.J. Abrams‘ directed “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” it seems that Serkis will once again be playing a villainous role, though full details on the character were not released.

On-hand during the shoot, Annie Liebovitz took a quick photograph of Serkis while he was wearing his motion-cap ensemble, which you can see above.

The website did not specifically state whether Snoke is the Supreme Leader of a new Empire, or a Sith Lord but we will all find out together when the film releases later this year. It’s been reported that Serkis’ character is the voice narrating the first “Force Awakens” teaser released earlier this year.

Disney will release “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” on December 18, 2015, so get your best cosplay ready for the event.
