Kristen Stewart to star in ghost story film, reteams with Olivier Assayas
Kristen Stewart will star in a new film with director Olivier Assayas, the same director that helped the actor win a French Cesar Award for her work in ‘Clouds of Sils Maria’. The new film, described as a ghost story set in the Paris fashion underworld, is expected to start filming later this year.
The film is going by the name “Personal Shopper” and other casting announcements and premiere details are expected to be released as the film moves closer to production. News of Stewart’s casting were detailed at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Charles Gillibert called the casting a “#DreamTeam” on Twitter, Gillibert was a producer on ‘Sils Maria’ with Stewart and Assayas and will also be a producer on “Personal Shopper”.
In the 2014 film “Clouds of Sils Maria,” Stewart and Assayas were paired for the first time. The film was a hit with critics and fans, and the film premiered at Cannes. The Cesar Award was an amazing accomplishment for Stewart, who was the first American to win the award. Stewart won in the best supporting actress category.
“Personal Shopper,” was written by Assayas but full-details are not known at this time.
