It’s a girl for the Royal couple! All over Britain people are spreading the news of the latest royal baby and it couldn’t be more picture-perfect. Britain’s Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed a baby girl to the world early Saturday morning and the media, along with almost the entire British countryside, is going crazy. This marks the second royal-baby for the young couple, making one little Prince and one little Princess.
BBC News reported that Kate Middleton gave birth at about 3:34 a.m. ET, the new little baby weighed about 8 pounds and 3 ounces according to the official report. The baby was born at London’s St. Mary’s Hospital and Prince William was present for the delivery of the baby. It was only two-years ago that we reported that the baby’s older brother, George, was born, that was back on July 22, 2013. Little George was born in very same hospital as his little sister, but we still don’t know her name at this time.
In a statement, Kensington Palace said: “The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
Over the last few days, gigantic crowds have gathered outside Buckingham Palace, just as they did when Prince George was born. At the gates of the palace, a formal announcement of the royal birth is now on display with a golden easel to mark the occasion and make the official announcement. The easel will be on display outside the palace for 24 hours, a rather nice ceremony and tradition within the Royal family.
HRM Queen Elizabeth now has five great-grandchildren. The royal couple has not released a name, and the official picture has yet to be released. You can expect even more information from the Royal family over the next few days when that information is released to the world. As for now, we imagine everyone is getting some well-deserved rest, and we couldn’t be happier to report that everyone appears to be safe and sound, healthy and happy.
