Ellen DeGeneres and Netflix had a surprise announcement for Netflix users, the two powerhouses are teaming-up to bring a new animated series to children and adults, and it’s straight from Dr. Seuss. Netflix has ordered 13-episodes of the new series. The series will have a young inventor named Guy traveling across the country with Sam-I-Am.
As the odd-couple learn new things and find adventure along the way, they will find new ways to test their friendship and share some of those famous eggs and ham with people they meet. Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content for Netflix was on hand to make the announcement saying, “We think this will be a hit…Green Eggs and Ham is a perfect fit…for our growing slate of amazing stories…available exclusively in all Netflix territories.”
The series will be based on the classic global best-selling book by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel), Green Eggs and Ham will be adapted for television by Jared Stern (The LEGO Movie Sequel), who will also serve as executive producer alongside Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Kleeman, Mike Karz and David Dobkin.
The animated family comedy is from A Very Good Production, A Stern Talking To and Gulfstream Television in association with Warner Bros Animation, and distributed by Warner Bros. Television.
