Another returning cast member has been confirmed for ‘American Horror Story: Hotel,’ the popular FX anthology series which is set to return this fall. This morning’s casting announcement came from the American Horror Story showrunner himself, Ryan Murphy. Murphy took to Twitter to make the official announcement, telling his followers, “Sarah Paulson is checking into “Hotel.” And this season, she’s the baddest bad girl of them all. #AHSSeason5.”
No stranger to the series, Paulson has been a star of American Horror Story for three of the four past seasons. Paulson first appeared on the show back in season one, but was only in a small role at the time. Since then, Paulson has become one of the staples to the anthology, even earning an Emmy nomination for her role in ‘American Horror Story: Coven’. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for the Hotel.
Paulson will be playing two roles for FX this upcoming season, Paulson was also cast in the role of prosecutor Marcia Clarkin in the new Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk series ‘American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson’. Casting and other premiere dates for that series will be announced over the next few months.
Casting for season five of ‘American Horror Story’ has been going on for weeks, starting with the news that Lady Gaga, Chloë Sevigny and Wes Bentley would be joining the series for the fifth season. Each casting announcement seems to stir up a new headline on who will be returning or joining the popular thriller-franchise.
Joining them on screen will be Kathy Bates, Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson. Bates was one of the more recent announcements to the cast for the fifth season, it was unclear before the recent confirmation if she would be returning. Of course fans are more likely saddened with the idea that long-time star Jessica Lange will not be returning for season five.
American Horror Story Hotel will return this October.
