Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for the fifth installment to the ‘Mission Impossible’ franchise today. Once again, action-bound Ethan Hunt takes center-stage in the film, played by Tom Cruise.
Not only did Paramount release the first trailer for the project, the studio also released the first poster for the film and gave it an official title. Now called “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation,” the fifth Mission Impossible film is set to release later this year. Promises of the ‘Syndicate’ organization, motorcycle stunts, explosions and intrigue are all waiting for you in the trailer, which you can watch below.
The fifth film was directed by Christopher McQuarrie, working off a script written by Drew Pearce and based on the characters created by Bruce Geller. Joining Tom Cruise in the film are Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, Rebecca Ferguson and America Olivo.
Tom Cruise recently released ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ with Emily Blunt back in 2014. Cruise has two projects in the works for future release including another ‘Jack Reacher’ installment and a sequel to the ‘Top Gun’ franchise. Although both of the films have been announced, no other information on plot, timeline or castings have been released from the studios behind them.
Simon Pegg will be starring in ‘Star Trek 3,’ when that film is released in theaters. Pegg will be returning to the franchise as Scotty.
As for ‘Mission Impossible 5,’ the film is currently scheduled to release in July 2015.
