Zayn Malik quits One Direction tour
If you haven’t been following the news, Zayn Malik and his now former band ‘One Direction,’ have been going through some tough times lately. The group have been touring Asia and Australia over the past weeks, and a few bumps in the road seem to have caused a small schism in the popular band.
Earlier this month the Philippines’ Immigration Bureau made an official request that band members Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson pay $5,000 bonds before the start of their upcoming concert in Manila. This was after a video appeared of the two members smoking-pot. After the event, news hit that Zayn Malik wouldn’t be attending the Manila show, and now it gets even worse for the band.
According to the group’s official publicist, Zayn Malik is leaving the tour indefinitely. It’s a solid blow to any one-direction fan to see Zayn step-down from the band. The official reason is stress, and Zayn Malik is heading back to the United Kingdom so that he can rest. The band will still continue their performances that were previously scheduled in Manila and Jakarta.
The official statement reads: “Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta.”
Things were already tough before the drugs incident with Malik, the singer was accused of cheating on fiancée, Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards, after photos of Malik and another woman hit the tabloids. Zayn denied the cheating-rumors on his Twitter account. All the best to Zayn Malik though while he rests, and hopefully he will be back with the band soon.
