Some casting decisions just seem perfect, even before you see them hit the big screen, and we think Josh Gad playing Lefou is one of them. Gad is no stranger to Disney masterpieces, the actor recently voiced Olaf in Disney’s world-wide blockbuster ‘Frozen,’ and he is currently finalizing his contract with Walt Disney to play the part of Lefou.

Le Fou of course is Gaston’s lackey, and he plays a sinister, yet comedic, role in the story. ‘Beauty and the Beast’ was the latest live-adaptation that the studio has confirmed, following ‘Maleficent’ with Angelina Jolie and ‘Cinderella’ with Lily James. A live-action ‘Dumbo’ is set to release as well under director Tim Burton, but Disney has not commented on that film at this time.

So far all of the roles that have been cast for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ have gone to British actors, Gad is the first American to join the cast since Disney began confirming roles. The most popular casting of course has gone to Emma Watson, who will be playing the role of Belle, Dan Stevens was announced as the Beast/Prince in the story, and Luke Evans will be playing the role of villainous Gaston. As for behind the camera, Disney has secured equally as impressive talent to produce the film. Bill Condon is directing the film with Stephen Chbosky writing the screenplay. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman are producing the film.

This comes just a few days after Disney confirmed that it will be releasing a sequel to ‘Frozen’ in theaters. A short-film called ‘Frozen Fever’ is being released as an intro to ‘Cinderella’ as a special treat for everyone that watches the film at the theaters. ‘Cinderella’ stars Lily James, Cate Blanchett and Richard Madden and opens nationwide today.
