Walt Disney Studios is quickly filling-out the main cast for the studio’s upcoming live-action adaptation of ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ adding both the Beast and Gaston to the cast list. Multiple sources, including Emma Watson herself, are reporting that Dan Stevens and Luke Evans are set to join the film. It was confirmed earlier this year that Emma Watson would be taking the lead role as Belle.

In the new live-action film, Dan Stevens will be taking on the role of the Beast, while Luke Evans will be playing the role of Gaston. Walt Disney Studios did not make an official announcement of the casting, but Emma Watson took to Twitter this week to congratulate her new co-stars. Watson told her followers, “Could not be more happy that this man will be Beast!!! Welcome aboard @thatdanstevens #beautyandthebeast.” She sent out another Tweet to congratulate Luke Evans stating, “Bonjour Gaston! ❤️ Welcome! #BeautyAndTheBeast”

Fans may know Dan Stevens best from his role in ‘Downton Abbey,’ in the series he plays the role of Matthew Crawley. Stevens was also featured in “A Walk Among the Tombstones” and “Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb” as Sir Lancelot.

Luke Evans has had a very busy past few years in Hollywood, starring in giant blockbusters like the latest “Hobbit” series, “Dracula Untold” and “Fast & Furious 6” just to name a few of the films that he has appeared in since 2013.

Bill Condon, the director behind “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and Part 2” will be directing the new live-action film adaptation for Disney. Production is scheduled to start by the end of 2015, but the film does not have an official release date at this time. More casting news and other details from the film are expected to be announced over the next few months.
