Earlier today Marvel tested their Twitter follower in a short-lived Twitter marketing campaign. The studio held the third trailer for the upcoming blockbuster “Avengers: Age of Ultron” hostage as the studio asked followers to share their Tweet with others, this was done in order to “unlock” the trailer seen below. The short-term social media marketing stunt paid-off for the studio, and now the new trailer can be seen on YouTube following the Twitter debut.

The highly-anticipated sequel to the first Avengers film will release on May 1, 2015, adding a few new faces to the already prominent display of high-profile actors. Among the returning cast are Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Renner.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson will be joining them as Quicksilver, James Spader is being added to the cast as the voice of Ultron and Elizabeth Olsen will be joining as the Scarlet Witch. Paul Bettany will also be featured in the film as The Vision. ABC’s ‘Agent Carter’ may see a boost in ratings when it returns after the new film premieres, series’ star Hayley Atwell will appear in the new film as Peggy Carter, the same character she plays in the new ABC series.

Joss Whedon directed the film, which is expected to rule the summer box-office and possibly destroy a few records of its own. The film will have the Avengers at odds, Tony Stark supporting a new bill that will require superheroes to register their actual identities with the government, while Captain America leads the side that thinks the new bill could be too dangerous to those with powers. While the team is divided Ultron appears, the villain may possibly destroy the world as we know it while the Avengers are too busy fighting each other.

The film will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.
