After threatening to leave the talk-show earlier this week, co-host Kelly Osbourne has quit Fashion Police. The official announcement was made earlier today with a short statement released from the network. The sudden departure may be a surprise, but Kelly Osbourne did warn fans that she was thinking about leaving the show.

The show will apparently go on, as it did when the lost Joan Rivers. Osbourne fist indicated that she was planning to leave after co-host Giuliana Rancic made controversial comments about Zendaya’s hair at the Oscars. Zendaya’s is a friend of Kelly Osbourne, who took to Twitter saying, “Im giving everyone involved 24 hours to make it right or the world will hear how I really feel. contactually Im not allowed to speak!” Osbourne then added in all-caps, “I DID NOT MAKE THE WEED COMENT. I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM SO AS A RSULT OF THIS IM SEREIOULSY QUESTIONONIG STAYING ON THE SHOW!” Since then, Kelly Osbourne has not made any remarks about leaving the show from her Twitter profile.

E!’s official statement on Osbourne leaving reads: Kelly Osbourne is departing E!s “Fashion Police” to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers. “Fashion Police” will return, as scheduled, on Friday, March 30th at 9:00 p.m. and no decisions have been made on her replacement.

If the show really does continue after this season, E! will most likely find a replacement over the next few weeks. As the network confirmed in their statement, no replacement has been named at this time, even though the show will continue to run. More information on the show’s continuation next year, or if E! fills in the empty chair left by Kelly Osbourne won’t be made clear until the network decides to do with the remaining pieces.
