Jessica Chastain has just picked up a new fairy-tale role. Just moments after NBC confirmed that Chris Hemsworth would be hosting SNL for the first time in March, Universal Pictures confirmed that Jessica Chastain will be co-starring with the actor in a new film. Chastain will join Emily Blunt, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron in film, called “The Huntsman.”

Cedric Nicolas-Troyan is directing the film, Joe Roth is set to produce while Palak Patel is the executive producer. The film is still very much in its early development stages, though the plot will circle the time before Snow White ever entered the picture. The original film ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ starred Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron and told an altered-version of the classic Snow White story line. That film was directed by Rupert Sanders back in 2012, with writers Evan Daugherty and John Lee Hancock. The film was met by lackluster reviews from critics, but the high-profile cast was enough to draw in the crowds. It seems that this time around, the film will have to lure audiences in without the help of Kristen Stewart.

The film does have a release date, set to premiere in theaters on April 22, 2016. Last year was a breakout moment for Chastain , the already popular actor picked up a string of successful pictures in 2014 and 2015 including roles in “Interstellar,” and “A Most Violent Year.” Sill on the way from the Oscar-nominated actor is the Guillermo del Toro horror-thriller “Crimson Peak,” set to release this October.

Chastain will also appear in ‘The Zookeeper’s Wife’ and ‘Blonde’ where she will take on the role of Marilyn Monroe. Chastain is currently filming ‘The Martian’ from Ridley Scott. More information on ‘The Huntsman’ will be released as the film moves closer to production. Details on the new characters introduced in the film will be released at that time.
