Oscars 2015: Big Hero 6 wins Best Animated Feature Film

The usual studio giants were all present for the ‘Best Animated Feature Film’ award this year. Only one of the favorites could win though, and “Big Hero 6” won the award in the crowded category, beating out its fellow toons.

“Big Hero 6” was directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams, working off a screenplay written by Jordan Roberts and Daniel Gerson. Helping to voice the film were Ryan Potter, Scott Adsit and Jamie Chung.

“The Boxtrolls” was directed by Graham Annable and Anthony Stacchi, working off a screenplay written by Irena Brignull. The story was written by Phil Dale. Among the voices in the film were Ben Kingsley, Jared Harris and Nick Frost.

“How to Train Your Dragon 2” was directed by Dean DeBlois, who also helped write the script with Cressida Cowell, the author of the “How to Train Your Dragon” book series. Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett and Gerard Butler lead the voice cast.

“Song of the Sea” was directed by Tomm Moore, working off a script written by Will Collins, from the original story written by Tomm Moore. Voicing the film were Brendan Gleeson, Fionnula Flanagan and David Rawle.

“The Tale of the Princess Kaguya” was directed by Isao Takahata, who also wrote the original story and the original screenplay. Chloë Grace Moretz, James Caan and Mary Steenburgen lead the voice cast.
