At the Berlin Film Festival this year it was confirmed that Keanu Reeves and Christina Hendricks will join the already fantastic cast assembled for Nicolas Refn’s “The Neon Demon,” currently being shopped at the festival.

This will be the follow-up to Refn’s previous film, “Only God Forgives,” which starred Ryan Gosling, Kristin Scott Thomas and Vithaya Pansringarm. Joining Reeves and Hendricks on-screen will be the film’s protagonist, Elle Fanning, and co-stars Abbey Lee, Jena Malone and Bella Heathcote.

Lene Borglum will be producing the project with Refn (the two are partners under their company Space Rocket). Reeves’ latest film ‘Knock Knock‘ just premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January. Reeves starred in the horror-thriller alongside Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas. As for Hendricks she has the TV-Movie ‘Roadies’ gearing up for production and has completed her work on ‘Dark Places,’ a mystery-thriller directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner and based on the Gillian Flynn novel of the same name. Gilles Paquet-Brenner wrote the screenplay for that film.

Jena Malone has wrapped up her work as Johanna Mason on “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2,” she has been rumored to be featured in the upcoming blockbuster “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” as the Joker’s right-hand squeeze Harley Quinn, though Warner Bros. has not commented on her involvement at this time. The role is expected to be a plot-device to introduce both Malone and Jared Leto (the Joker) for the upcoming spin off film ‘Suicide Squad’. That film has a release date of August 5, 2016.

Elle Fanning may be the busiest actor on the ticket, with nine projects in the works over the next two-years. Those include “Trumbo,” “Three Generations,” “Ballerina,” “Io,” “How to Talk to Girls at Parties,” “A Storm in the Stars,” “All the Bright Places, “Live by Night” and “Neon Demon”.
