It was the book that changed the mindset of millions, Rhonda Byrne’s best-seller ‘The Secret’ is now on its way to the big-screen. A new deal with Constantin Film and Robert Cort Productions will finally have the 2006 mega-hit become a motion-picture through a new film-adaption expected to start shooting this year. The book was recently named by USA Today as one of the top 20 bestselling books of the past 15 years. Rhonda’s other books include ‘The Power’ in 2010, also a New York Times bestseller, and ‘The Magic’ was released in 2012.

Directing the adaptation will be Raja Gosnell (Nine Months, Pretty Woman) based on a script by Bekah Brunstetter. This won’t be the first film surrounding the popular book, there was a 2006 documentary on Rhonda Byrne’s work featuring Bob Proctor, Joe Vitale and John Assaraf. That film was directed by Drew Heriot, Sean Byrne, Marc Goldenfein and Damian McLindon. Rhonda Byrne was the credit for the original concept of the documentary.

The new film will be created from the material collected in the documentary, and the original work by Rhonda Byrne. The story will focus on a young woman, who after losing her husband, is raising three children on her own. The family meets a stranger, who teaches them the life-lessons and wisdom that he has acquired in his travels.

The original book was an outstanding success, selling close to 30 million copies across the globe. Those that remember the international craze might remember that the book was on the New York Times bestseller list for almost four years. Since then the book has been translated into over fifty languages. Robert Kulzer, Margo Klewans, Martin Moszkowicz, Skye Byrne and Raja Gosnell are attached as executive producers. More information on the film, casting and other plot details will be released as the project enters into production.

The latest book from Byrne, ‘Hero,’ released in November 2013. At the time of the the announcement Judith Curr, President and Publisher of Atria Publishing Group stated, “We are all heroes, but we often forget that, and this book will inspire and show us all how to search for, find, and live our dreams.”
