If you are going through Louie-withdraw, the wait is almost over. The popular series based on the life of stand-up comic Louis C.K. is set to premiere on April 9, 2015. The month is already packed to the gills with premieres, both on regular networks and from online-streaming sites like Netflix, so get ready to bunker-down and watch some wonderful television.
FX made the announcement earlier this morning (Sunday) at the Television Critics Association press tour, and also confirmed that Louie will also return to the 10:30 p.m. timeslot. That wasn’t the only premiere that FX had ready for fans during its panel, the first season of Billy Crystal and Josh Gad’s new series ‘The Comedians,’ will also premiere on the same day and will serve as a lead-in to Louie at 10 p.m.
If that isn’t enough Louie for you, you can also look forward to a new stand-up special from the comedian. FX confirmed a new Louis C.K. comedy special for the new year, but stopped short of revealing an exact premiere date.
As we mentioned earlier, April is a gigantic month for television. HBO will premiering the new season of ‘Game of Thrones,’ and Marvel will premiere ‘Daredevil’ on Netflix. The final season of ‘Mad Men’ is also premiering in April, so you will have a lot to watch/DVR/Stream as we move into spring’s warmer weather.
Louis C.K. will also be writing a new pilot with fellow actor and co-star of Louie, Pamela Adlon. The show will be called ‘Better Things,’ and will follow Adlon as a working actor trying to succeed in the harsh business while also raising her three daughters by herself. Both Adlon and Louis C.K. will be executive producers on the show.
More information on castings, premieres and updates on these series as well as new pilots expected to hit FX over the coming months will be announced at a later date.
