FOX has confirmed that it will renew both ‘Empire’ and ‘Gotham’ for another season. Both shows are only in their freshman year on the network, but have done extremely well for FOX over the past few weeks. Fox made the confirmation at a panel earlier today (Saturday) along with a few other popular announcements for ‘Scream Queens‘.

While Gotham is the standout star for new series, FOX applauded Empire at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour stating that Empire was the network’s most-viewed series opener for viewers using the Fox Now app. The comedy ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which one the Golden Globe for best comedy series, was also renewed by FOX for another season.

“We’re so lucky to have shows like Simpsons and Family Guy to platform Brooklyn,” Fox CEO Dana Walden said during this weekend’s Television Critics Association press tour. “It’s brought a very broad audience.”

While all three shows were expected to get a renewal, fans can sleep easy knowing that their favorite drama or comedy will be coming back for more episodes in late 2015. Renewals are great for fans, but leave only a few spots in the Fall 2015 line-up for new shows, more information on pilots will be announced over the next few weeks.
