Jennifer Lawrence teams with Hunger Games Director again for ‘The Dive’
A new project is underway that will reunite Jennifer Lawrence and director Francis Lawrence, the film is being produced by James Cameron and it is named “The Dive”. The story focuses on the true-story of an ill-fated pair of free-divers, Francisco “Pipin” Ferraras and his wife Audrey Mestre. Both divers competed to hold the record for longest dive without external oxygen tanks.
In the film we know that Lawrence will play the role of wife Mestre, in the actual story Mestre died while attempting to break her own world record of a dive to 557.7 feet below water. The film holds a special place with Cameron, who filmed the tribute dive of Ferraras, who dove down to 557.7 feet in honor of his late-wife.
That is the connection that brings Cameron on as a producer for the film, along with Rae Sanchini and Barry Josephson. Overseeing the film for the studio will be 20th Century Fox executive Mark Roybal.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and both “Mockingjay” films brought the two Lawrences together in the past, this will be their third film together. More information on casting and a release window will be released at a later date.
