Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling to star in Michael Lewis’ Big Short adaptation
Three of Hollywood’s hottest leading men are set to star in the film-adaptation of Michael Lewis’ bestseller ‘The Big Short,’ you may have heard of them; Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling. The financial drama was already a hit once, before the three stars all joined the cast, the work was a bestselling success written by author Michael Lewis back in 2010.
The original work was called, ‘The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine,’ and the story follows the events and people that lead to the financial crisis that threw the United States into a recession back in 2007. Fans of Lewis’ work might also know him from ‘The Blind Side’ and Moneyball’. Pitt starred in the film adaptation of Moneyball in 2011, and both films were Oscar bound pretty much since the premiere of both films.
Paramount and Plan B began adapting the book back in 2010, we didn’t hear much about the project after that until Adam McKay agreed to adapt and direct the film in 2012. Now with all three actors on board, we imagine production will move much faster.
