On January 8, 2015 Elvis Presley would have celebrated his 80th birthday, but his life was tragically cut short back in 1977. His legacy of course is still going strong, and to celebrate the music-icon, Miley Cyrus added a touch of Presley to her latest look. Wearing a white jumpsuit, Cyrus posed for pictures as she attended the opening of W magazine’s Shooting Stars exhibit. The exhibit held an event last Friday in Los Angeles.
It wasn’t quite the same as Elvis’ famous white jumpsuit, Cyrus’ version added a low-cut, V-neck top but did feature a white-cape. Other iconic accessories added to the ensemble included an oversized belt buckle and white pants, with an accentuated flare. Cyrus kept the tribute subtle, and since Cyrus comes from a southern musical family, we think her Godmother Dolly Parton would appreciate the quiet nod to the legend.
Speaking with E! News Cyrus said, “I was thinking this was very Elvis Presley,” adding, “I thought it felt right because it was just his 80th birthday.” .
