FOX sets dates for Gambit, Planet of the Apes, Assassin’s Creed and more

From Comic-book themed films to video-game adaptations, FOX has set the premiere dates for a number of highly-anticipated films over the next few years. One of the larger films that received a release date today was the new X-Men spinoff Gambit, starring Channing Tatum, as well as the comedy Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates, the video-game series Assassin’s Creed, The Greatest Showman on Earth and finally Mountain Between Us.

The Fantastic Four 2 and the next installment of the Planet of the Apes franchise both had their release-dates moved during the announcement today as well.

As for ‘Gambit,’ that film will now release on Oct. 7, 2016. The Jake Szymaski film Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates is now scheduled to release on July 29, 2016. Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien write the script to the film, but a cast has not been released at this time.

As we mentioned before, Planet of the Apes has been moved from its original July 29, 2016 release date, up one-week to release now on July 14, 2017. Fantastic Four 2 was moved from July 14, 2017, to June 2, 2017.

The long-awaited Assassin’s Creed film starring Michael Fassbender, and directed by Justin Kurzel will now release on December 21, 2016. That leaves Hugh Jackman’s P.T. Barnum film ‘The Greatest Showman on Earth,’ now set to release on Dec. 25, 2016. The film was directed by Michael Gracey based off a script by Bill Condon.

Finally The Mountain Between Us, starring red-hot actors Charlie Hunnam and Gone Girl’s Rosamund Pike will release on Feb. 10, 2017.
