ESPN SportsCenter’s Stuart Scott dies at 49
It was a sad moment on ESPN this morning as the network confirmed the death of longtime ESPN SportsCenter anchor, Stuart Scott. The popular anchor had been battling cancer for the last few years, and has now passed away at the age of 49. This according to the network’s announcement on Sunday morning.
Scott’s stomach-cancer was first diagnosed back in November of 2007, the anchor went through multiple surgeries, went through chemotherapy and radiation therapy, as well as clinical trials to improve his condition.
Scott’s colleagues shared their love, memories and condolences with viewers and Scott’s family on the early morning broadcast this morning (Sunday). Rick Reilly’s Twitter described his friend saying, that Scott, “lived with such panache. He battled his disease with such dignity. Unforgettable man.”
He will surely be missed by his colleagues, friends, family and fans.
