In the past, customers would have to choose between 11″ and 13″ models if they wanted to switch the Chromebook platform, but a new model from Acer allows a little more screen-space for anyone looking to make the switch to the growing OS. The new laptops will be on display this month at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, but the company announced a few details about the devices to get eager customers excited about the launch.
The two new Chromebooks include a few standout features, including new processors and improved screens. The Chromebook 15 features a 15.6-inch HD display and a fifth-generation Intel processor for just $249.99. That price includes a 16GB SSD drive and 2GB of RAM. If you prefer to go smaller, the updated Chromebook 13 will now include a touchscreen starting at $329.99.
Also announced was the Aspire V 17 Nitro notebook featuring a 3D camera that will allow more interaction with web-pages and simple gestures to control a few of the standard operations of the laptop without touching the device. The company is also expected to add new gaming monitors to its growing line-up in 2015 but more information on those devices and the before mentioned laptops won’t be released until CES later this month.
