Those who own an Nvidia SHIELD Portable or SHIELD Tablet can grab the newest update to the SHIELD Hub, which adds a major UI update, improved Console Mode Gamestreaming, and improved GRID connectivity.
SHIELD Hub now sports Google’s Material Design makeover with an updated icon, layers, and new animations. The My PC Games and GRID section now also shows more titles and offers vertical scrolling, making it easier to scroll for those with a large library of games. GRID sees an improved streaming connection with this update.
Moving on from aesthetics, Console Mode now sees a major improvement with Gamestream. If you have a beefy enough Wifi connection, you can output games at 1080p at 60 FPS, something that previously was only available with an Ethernet LAN adapter. a 5GHz Wifi network is required to stream at this level.
To enable 1080p/60 FPS, go to My PC Games > Streaming Settings > Show Advanced Options > Quality, and set Max Resolution to 1080p and frame rate to 60 FPS.
