Kathy Griffin will host ‘Fashion Police’
It looks like the rumors were true, Kathy Griffin will become the new host of ‘Fashion Police,’ a spot held by the late Joan Rivers. Joan Rivers passed away on September 4 of this year, and when the show returns in 2015 it will be Kathy Griffin leading the way.
“I get it! These are some big shoes I’m going to fill. Joan was truly one of a kind,” said Griffin in a public statement. “Now I hope you will accept me for me. I’m just Kathy. Did I say I’m just Kathy? I meant I’m Kathy F—ing Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners. I am not holding back so DAMMIT let’s have some fun!”
“Not only was Joan a trailblazer, she was also a dear friend and mentor to Kathy, who will no doubt continue her legacy and do the series justice by bringing her own unique comedic style and tell-it-like-it-is personality to the host chair,” said Jeff Olde, E! executive vice president, programming and development.
Rumors of Griffin taking over the show have been circulating for weeks now, just one month after Rivers’ death it was confirmed that Griffin was already in talks to take the spot. Fans of the show can set a date for the new season premiere, Jan. 12, 2015.
