Who to expect at the American Music Awards 2014
The AMA Awards are usually a well-blended mix of popular artists from a wide-array of genres, and this year will be no exception. On the performing stage one of the biggest acts of the night will be Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea as they perform “Booty” for the first time together on television. They aren’t the only big-names set to perform however, almost everyone on Billboard charts will be hitting the stage this year to promote their latest albums.
Bands like 5 Seconds of Summer, Imagine Dragons and One Direction will be on-hand to whip their millions of fans into a frenzy, while artists like Mary J. Blige, Garth Brooks, Charli XCX and Fergie will take their solo acts to the big stage. Let’s not leave out some of the biggest album sellers of 2014 though, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Jessie J, Lil Wayne, Lorde and Magic! are also coming to AMAs this year, as is Nicki Minaj and Sam Smith.
The entire event is being hosted by Mr. Worldwide himself, Pitbull, and presenters Uzo Aduba, Jhene Aiko, Elizabeth Banks, Aloe Blacc, Lauren Cohan, Gavin DeGraw, Ansel Elgort, Jamie Foxx, Becky G, Brantley Gilbert, Danai Gurira, Lucy Hale, Ella Henderson, Julianne Hough, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kira Kazantsev, Heidi Klum, Mary Lambert, Rose McGowan, Danica McKellar, Pat Monahan, Olivia Munn, Kevin O’Leary, Pentatonix, Tracee Ellis Ross, Taylor Schilling and Meghan Trainor have also been confirmed.
You can also add the one and only Taylor Swift to the 2014 American Music Awards’ list of performers. The newly elected NYC ambassador will most likely perform Blank Spaces at tonight’s event, and it will most likely close the show. You can catch it all tonight as it broadcasted live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC.
