Lana Del Rey lends her music to Tim Burton’s ‘Big Eyes’
The final details are being released for Tim Burton’s next film ‘Big Eyes,’ the latest update confirms that popular songstress Lana Del Rey will be lending two songs to the project. A fact that should make the film a priority with millions of fans across the globe.=
The film focuses on the trying life of painter Margaret Keane, who suddenly became a remarkable success in the 1950s. It wasn’t long after her career took-off that her husband claimed that he was the source of the paintings in the 1960s, which of course lead to a drawn out legal battle over the paintings.
Tim Burton directed the film based on a script written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. The film has a terrific cast including Christoph Waltz, Amy Adams and Krysten Ritter.
The film could offer Lana Del Rey the Oscar nomination that many felt she should have received last year. The Academy did not nominate Del Ray for her amazing work in The Great Gatsby with the song ‘Young and Beautiful’. Lana Del Rey wrote two songs for this film though, ‘Big Eyes’ and “I Can Fly,” which will be played over the end credits.
“Tim showed her the film and she fell in love with it,” co-screenwriter and producer Larry Karaszewski told THR. When speaking of ‘Big Eyes’ Karaszewski stated, “it almost becomes a musical. Lana’s song expresses what Margaret is feeling so perfectly, it’s like a soliloquy of her inner thoughts.”
The film will release on Christmas Day.
