Haley Bennett joins Patrick Wilson, Jessica Biel in ‘The Blunderer’ adaptation
Though the film is still without a name, it will be a new adaptation of the 1954 Patricia Highsmith novel ‘The Blunderer.’ Bennett will join stars Patrick Wilson and Jessica Biel in the project, which is set to be a psychological thriller expected to release in 2015. Fans of Highsmith may know her other work ‘Strangers on a Train’ and ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’.
The studio behind the film is Sierra Pictures, along with 120dB Films and Electric Shadow. Andy Goddard will be directing the film. Christine Vachon, David Hinojosa and Ted Hope will produce alongside Sierra Pictures. The film takes place in the 1960s, set in New York City about a man named Walter Stackhouse (to be played by Patrick Wilson), who is an architect married to Clara (played by Jessica Biel).
Soon Walter’s obsession with an unsolved murder suddenly becomes all too real, with the killer contacting him and putting everyone in danger. Not only is the killer getting closer, Walter’s affair with another woman (Haley Bennett) threatens to end everything for poor Walter. Bennett will be replacing Imogen Poots in the film, who had to drop out of the production.
