Keira Knightley makes her Broadway debut in “Therese Raquin”

Making her debut on Broadway in 2015 will be Keira Knightley, the popular actor will take the lead-role in “Therese Raquin,” for the fall 2015 production. Behind the project is the notable Roundabout Theater Company, which will have Knightley play the title character in Helen Edmundson’s adaptation of the novel originally written by Emile Zola.

The play focuses on the story of women trapped in her loveless marriage, who then begins a heated affair with one of her husband’s best-friends. Directing the play will be Evan Cabnet (“The Model Apartment,” “A Kid Like Jake”). Knightley has been on a terrific streak in theaters, finishing up “The Imitation Game” with Benedict Cumberbatch, and just before that wrapped “Laggies” with Chloe Grace Moretz and Sam Rockwell.

The Roundabout Theater Company was recently in the news for another popular debut, Ewan McGregor’s Broadway debut in “The Real Thing.” If you are hoping to catch Kinghtley on stage during her run, you will want to get tickets for “Therese Raquin” starting on Oct. 29, 2015. The exact venue for the play has not been released, but it should open at one of the three Roundabout Locations here in NYC.

Previews for the play will start Oct. 1, 2015.
