In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Aaron Sorkin revealed that Christian Bale will be taking on the role of Steve Jobs in a new biopic-film; confirming earlier rumors of Bale’s involvement in the project.

The film is based on a screenplay written by Aaron Sorkin himself, fans of Sorkin’s writings might know him best from his Oscar-winning work on “The Social Network” and “The Newsroom.” The new Jobs biopic will be directed by Oscar Nominated director Danny Boyle. Sorkin talked about bringing the project to Bale (who apparently didn’t even have to audition for the role) in the interview released by Bloomberg this week. You can watch a portion of that interview below.

In the interview Sorkin stated, “What we needed was the best actor,” adding, “It’s an extremely difficult part, and he’s going to crush it.” The film itself is based on Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography titled, “Steve Jobs.” The project itself is currently scheduled to begin shooting in early 2015.
