Microsoft Music Deals app hits Windows phones, tablets and desktop

Microsoft has unveiled a new Microsoft Music Deals app, available on Windows PC, Tablet or Phone, that will bring new music to your favorite devices for only $.99-$1.99. Starting today, and updating every Tuesday, there will be 101 top albums that can be yours for under $2 each.

Microsoft stated that there will be “new, debut albums at only $.99” and “timeless classics for just $1.99.” Clicking on the album that you want will take you to the Xbox Music app in Windows 8/8.1 or Windows Phone 8/8.1 to download-to-own. Other companies like Samsung, Beats (before it was acquired by Apple) and even Microsoft have released other music-store apps in the past in order to compete with Apple’s iTunes, and Google Play.

If you are interested in checking out what music is being offered this week, you can donload the Microsoft Music Deals app from the Windows Store here, or from the Windows Phone Store here.
