Disney offers one-glimpse at the studio’s next animated film, Moana
You may only get one piece of concept art to look at, but ‘Moana’ is looking quite gorgeous akready. Disney released the above image created to help design the upcoming film, which will be the animated studios follow-up to record-breaking film ‘Frozen,’ earlier today.
The studio has also taken the reigns when it comes to introducing powerful female leads, in this case the studio described the film briefly by stating, “In the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania, Moana, a born navigator, sets sail in search of a fabled island. During her incredible journey, she teams up with her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui, to traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous sea creatures, breathtaking underworlds and ancient folklore.”
The film has even more powerful members behind the camera, with Ron Clements and John Musker co-directing. They worked on some other Disney films you may have heard of like “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” and “The Princess and the Frog.” Needless to say, they know Disney, and they know how to make the fans happy.
More information on the film, and casting, will be released as the project moved farther along into production. The film is currently scheduled to release in 2016.
