The idea of Robin being played by a female-lead isn’t new to the Batman franchise, in fact, it has already been done in multiple mediums that feature the Batman storyline. Bringing a female-Robin to the big-screen however would be a new move for Warner Bros., which may have cast Jena Malone for the part.
According to the recent report from WILX-10 in Detroit, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has casted a female in the role, and all rumors to this point indicate that it could be Jena Malone taking the role of Carrie Kelly. In the report Kirk Montgomery spoke directly with an extra at Michigan State University, where he learned that extra was on set during a scene with Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). “I’ve also learned that the character of Robin is now female,” the reported stated.
Fans of Malone know her best from her terrific work in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” Rumors that Malone was taking up the Robin-role began when Malone was first seen with a new red-hair style while out-and-about on the famous WB set. If you are thinking about spilling the beans yourself, be careful, there’s a $5 million fee if you are caught breaking your iron-clad, non-disclosure agreement with Warner Bros. for spilling secrets.
There is a bit of a wait left for fans of the series, “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” will premiere on March 25, 2016.
